THE BOOK of this HOUR!

Recently, everyone seems to be writing a book - with their dark fantasies about sex and other tempting sins, or some fake strange stories from the noted campuses. All this 'book-rush' made 'book-market' full of literally crass stories aimed at instant success and fame. Amidst all cacophony of sex-cum-love stories, a serious admirer of literature that could present a realistic facets of the society, could easily become disheartened. But thanks to Social Media, specially my huge twitter follower list, I came to know about this book  'RI - Homeland of Uncertainty -THE BOOK' and its writer Paulami DuttaGupta. Frankly speaking, I came to knew about the book first, as an award winning Khasi movie , is based on it. 'Ri – Homeland of Uncertainty' (2013), was awarded as the best Khasi film in the 61st National Film Awards. Later, through the author, I was lucky enough to get a copy of the book.   Book Details: Title: Ri Homeland of Uncertainty A...

Letter to Editor on Muzaffarnagar Riots

Dear Chinki Sinha and the Editor, This mail is in response to your story: http://www.openthemagazine.com/article/nation/why-0 Nice story telling of Muslim offender 'Shahnawaz Khan, a Samajwadi Party worker, with white Scorpio' and muslim victim Amroz the sweatshop worker. And others followed later.  But like others partial JNU type communists, you did see only Muslims as victims. Did you try to find out the real reason behind the riots - several cases of gang rapes of non-jats Hindu girls including Dalits girls in Shamli and Muzaffarnagar. All it happened in precedent months. One girl was even burnt alive by 5 muslim rapists. The real reason was not even these gang-rapes, the actual reason was UP police dint take proper action against offenders as they were muslims. Azam Khan has reportedly directed police, not to register serious FIRs against Muslims.  When these sex offenders started targeting Jat girls, the situation escalated as Jats were able to respo...

Re-introducing Simply Yuva

Ignorance is our leisure...

“Ignorance is the night of the mind, a night without moon or star”  ~ Confucius Starting with this quote of Confucius, I wanted to draw our attention on the ignorance we are carrying forward in our daily life. It is not about being a pessimist or being a critique, but an observation from real life situation.  Talking about our society and country... a high level of ignorance could be found at every aspect. It is not only political, economic but also societal and personal. One of the most common attribute to the ‘educated’ class, when you talk about ‘politics’ or ‘public policy’ they make face of disgust. It a fashion and its contagious. They would flaunt it and say, ‘I hate politics’. Majority of them, never go and vote. However, they never miss a chance to cruse and abuse the criminal type political leader who was elected due to ignorance of such people. But they love their ignorance! And you cant convince them to do... not to blame.  The...
