"Pandemic pause: Lessons from Hindu traditions and practices" at HinduPost

My first public publication of the year is about Hindu Traditional Knowledge. It is published at HinduPost on 9th May 2020. My writing activities have been very minimal recently. Hope, to write more in future. My article on Hindu Traditional Knowledge system and #Covid_19 Pandemic. #TEK #coronavirus #HinduKnowledge https://t.co/V88rUj90WK — Amit Srivastava (@AmiSri) May 9, 2020 Pandemic pause: Lessons from Hindu traditions and practices BY: Amit Srivastava May 9, 2020 We are currently at a health crossroads triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.  Sadly, the country of origin of the virus  and international institutions have failed to help the global  community in  stemming  the COVID-19 pandemic. The silver lining, however, is that  practices and traditions in Hindu Dharma, that date back to several millennia,  offer valuable guidelines   in dealing with this highly contagious virus. Since  time  immemorial,...

World Hindu Congress, 2014 - A dream that turned in to reality.

This year has been fulfilling year so far. Our well desired government is at center, India getting prominence in the world. And new visions on development, diplomacy and security are coming afore.  World Hindu Congress is brainchild of great visionary Swami Vigyananand ji. He conceptualized it in 2009, and presented in VHP-ICM Meet, Mumbai 2010. And Finally last month the imagination and concept became the reality: When 1800 Hindus from 53 countries, heed the call of “Sangachchhadhwam Samvadadhwam” (Step together, Express together), and converge to put their combined constructive and positive energy together, the event had to be historic for Hindu rise and resurgence. This happened from 21-23 November 2014 when delegates from around the world gathered to deliberate the future for a better world at the First World Hindu Congress, through the universal Hindu values and pluralism, in New Delhi, Bharat. Seven conferences, 45 sessions, and 196 speakers provided the opportunity to ...

Letter to Editor on Muzaffarnagar Riots

Dear Chinki Sinha and the Editor, This mail is in response to your story: http://www.openthemagazine.com/article/nation/why-0 Nice story telling of Muslim offender 'Shahnawaz Khan, a Samajwadi Party worker, with white Scorpio' and muslim victim Amroz the sweatshop worker. And others followed later.  But like others partial JNU type communists, you did see only Muslims as victims. Did you try to find out the real reason behind the riots - several cases of gang rapes of non-jats Hindu girls including Dalits girls in Shamli and Muzaffarnagar. All it happened in precedent months. One girl was even burnt alive by 5 muslim rapists. The real reason was not even these gang-rapes, the actual reason was UP police dint take proper action against offenders as they were muslims. Azam Khan has reportedly directed police, not to register serious FIRs against Muslims.  When these sex offenders started targeting Jat girls, the situation escalated as Jats were able to respo...

Beautiful country, honest and sincere people and above all they have protected their dharma and tradition with all will and commitment.  By Himalayan efforts, untiring hard-work and motivation from Swami Vigayananand ji, around 150 Hindu Youths are here from 11 different countries to participate in World Hindu Youth Congress, 2013. It was first day, and we all got huge treasure of information, knowledge and ideas to arise and organize the Hindu society.  As the motto of the conference reads: "Arise Arjuna" - A call for all Hindu youths to arise from the ignorance and apathy, get organized and lead the society.  Its wonderful to meet Hindus from all over the world, and specially from Bali. The session was started with the reciting of Bhagwat Gita, Chapter 2 sloka by Bhavin. Followed by energizing address by the governor of Bali, Mangku Pastika.  Mr governor call for arise and defend Hinduism by every possible way. He pro...

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Dharma Raksha

Aurangzeb was the most fanatic among mughal rulers, his Islamic expansion madness resulted in the conversion of Hindus into Islam all across the India. His religious intolerance is the darkest chapter in Indian medieval history. Not satisfied with mass demolition of temples and forceful mass conversion of Hindu, He decided thet if he could convert the revered Brahmin Pandits of Kashmir that millions of followers would then easily be converted. He issues orders to Kashmiri Pandits, convert to Islam or die... Threatened with conversion or death, the Pandits panicked. They came in a delegation to Chakk Nanaki, Pargana Kahlur and requested Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to help them. Hearing the serious nature of the conversation, Guru Ji's nine year old son Gobind Rai Ji told his father what the problem was. After hearing Pandits' trouble, Guru ji asked for the possible ways to deal with the problem. His son Gobind Rai responded "Who would be better than you to defend t...

May All of Us Be Happy

It is often said "follow your heart" and be what you want to be. The examples given are Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Amithabh Bachhan and so on. It is true happiness is to do what you love to do. However, it's only one side of story, the other side always remains in darkness... Just like moon, we only see the brighter side of it. There are millions other who waste their potentials and talent just by following their heart and likings.  No one is a Steve Jobs until he/she becomes a CEO of the Apple. The person remains a broken guy who goes to Hare Krishna temple in search of good food. The point is, you essentially need a success story. There are many talented guys who are much more creative and active but they remain unknown till their last breath - living in a Oakwood banglow of North America or doing some tricks of Dharavi Slum of Mumbai. These guys are no less but things didn't click with them or they didn't think beyond the horizon.  The point is, yo...

Why All Politicians Are Corrupt?

Through text books and media, Congress conspired to us to believe what it wanted us to believe. They successfully injected and installed the idea of 'only congress won the freedom’ in the mind of several generation. With the help of this, they remain in power for 60 years. Slowly, they named almost all govt institution, programmes, infrastructures, public buildings after their family member. So, that half of the population which is illiterate, can assume that all is done by the party of dynasty.            The next step was making 'politics' corrupt and criminalized it. It was largely during Indira Gandhi regime which came after the fall of 'Sampurna Kranti' govt of Janta Party. Criminalization was done on caste lines; hence criminal got elected again and again. Not just within Congress party, but it influenced the regional parties as well. Lalu and Mulayam are best example of it. All of these by products were, are and will always be loyal to Congress. ...

Ayodhya Verdict: Won, Cheated or ‘Managed’

Bangkok 30 September 2010 Ayodhya Verdict: Won, Cheated or ‘Managed’ Everyone is happy with the High Court decision about Ayodhya. The tensed environment suddenly became cheerful and people were congratulating each other - Hindus, Muslims and Govt. Lets look at why they are celebrating - Hindus were thinking that having a secular (or pro-Muslim) government whatever comes would be welcoming. But they got more than what they expected. Verdict (Including Justice S U Khan's) accepted existence of Ram temple at the disputed place. Though, it is nothing new, whole world know that Ayodhya is birth place of Shri Ram and Mecca is birth place of PBUH Muhammad. But law fearing Hindu community does not practice jihad or a nation based on religion, hence, there is no global brotherhood or even local organization among them. However, for Muslims, there was nothing to lose. They were sure that whatever comes, even one-tenth of its part would be victory for them. Hence they congratulated. I...

A Deadly Assault on India!

The recent Mumbai incidence is the biggest terrorist attack on India. In many ways, this attack was bigger than the attack of 9/11 on World Trade Center, as the terrorists stormed an area span of eight kilometers in highly crowded region of Mumbai. This Jihadi attack was extending from CST Railway Station to Nariman Point in Colaba, killing and shooting everyone. The death toll is around 300 and equally number of people are seriously injured. Twenty brave policemen and two National Security Guards commando were also deceased. The attack was carried out by any damn Fidaayin Jehadis- that is not a matter of bigger concern, but the way they defeated all civilian security of Mumbai city is the prime cause of concern. The delayed response aggravated the tragedy and resulted in more causality. I observed, politicians have a larger stake into this incident. News papers says that RAW has given the information on the 'ship' and 'satellite phone conversation with Laskar' to polic...

Here a vedio documentary film titled 'Ramayana aur Ram sethu' is being screened for The Film Certification Appellate Tribunal, Govt. of India. We are still waiting for final words from tribunal. It is 1.35 now.. have been sitting here since 10 AM.

Erasing Our Faith and History!

Since last one week, the national news is focused on validating and un-validating the religious belief, the faith of 80 million people of India. And this time again target was Ram. Both opponent of Ram and Supporter of Ram are misusing Ram's name. One of these stupid leaders... is a leader from Tamilnadu. Since, his and his party politics is based on enmity from Hindi, Hindu and North India, he has been pushing it hard to get his agenda done. NDA, a non-rational collitions passed to much stupid legislation... and this UPA govt is trying to overtake NDA in such legislation. After Quota in higher education, separate investments and development plans for a specific religious group, this mindless govt's another step is to let the Hindu's of India feel self pity on their self.. Living with a hostile government who is creating enmity among its different caste, discriminating for being Hindu and blasting off it's religious structure. (Ramsetu) I have been doing an indepen...
